Marcus L. Joseph was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Bakersfield, California. In 1988 he obtained his B.S. in Psychology from University of California Santa Barbara. After graduating, Marcus relocated to Los Angeles, California and obtained his Master of Science degree in Counseling with a concentration in School Psychology from California State University Northridge. Later in life, Marcus earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University.
Marcus worked in the field of School Psychology at Los Angeles Unified School District for 10 years but eventually became a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Marcus has worked for over 25 years in the field of social services and mental health. He has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including group homes, schools, community-based therapy programs, private psychotherapy practices, non-profit organizations, and EAP programs.
In 1991, Marcus founded JB Counseling & Consulting, Inc. which was an agency that provided counseling and social services to at risk youth and families in the greater Los Angeles area. He managed a staff of twenty-five individuals committed to making positive change in the lives of children and families through Department of Mental Health programs such as Family Preservation, Systems of Care, and WRAP Around. This practice was in business for over twenty years.
In 2015, Marcus founded HOPE Child and Family Professional Clinical Counseling Services located in Beverly Hills, California. HOPE provides psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors in Los Angeles County and surrounding areas in Southern California.
