Nelson has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology with an emphasis on research and social welfare. Nelson is a licensed clinical social worker who completed his master’s degree in social work at the University of Southern California with training in Dialectical behavioral therapy, Motivational interviewing, Trauma focused Cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy and many other modalities.  Nelson is a graduate of the Ford Institute Leadership Program. Nelson has a passion “to solve complex nuanced social problems that impact underserved populations that suffer from homelessness, addiction, trauma and mental illness. His philosophy as a therapist is “to help people find the life worth living while cultivating empathy for the world around them”.
